Meet Kenny.

 

Hawaiian born, northern raised, and southern fried. Self-taught Kenny Keawekane has been performing, teaching, and choreographing professionally for the past 6 years. He has performed and assisted choreography in numerous theater shows including Hairspray and Grease and has donated his time teaching and performing to numberous charities including Chattanooga Cares, American Cancer Society, and many more. Jack of all trades, master of none, he is consistently striving to be a better performer/artist, engulfing himself in other types and styles of venues and dance, learning what he can from music editing, costume and prop design, and technical and stage direction. He loves all forms of art and creativity and loves collaborations with other artists or styles of art and dance. he originally started performing in Chattanooga for The Floor is Yours at the Barking Legs Theater when he was introduced to WEAVE: A Conceptual Dance Company. Through, WEAVE, he honed in his skills and met some other talented performers who have joined together to form COMMIX Dance Crew. Recently, he just filmed a commercial at the Hunter Museum, has premiered in Eric Paslay’s music video, “High Class,” and is choreographing for Coffee County High School’s theater program and for Center Stage Singers Show CHoir. He also teaches at a few different venues between Chattanooga and Nashville. His dance goals are to be a successful choreographer, teacher, and performer, perform in a dance movie, perform on stage at World of Dance, perform/advocate for the gay and bear community, go on tour, and travel the world teaching, learning, competing, and spreading the message of love and dance.
